Parts Manager – Forklift & Materials Handling

Sheffield

£28,000 + company car

Permanent

Shillito Group are recruiting for a Parts Manager to join an established business operating within the forklift and materials handling sector.

This is a hands-on role for someone who knows parts, understands customers and suppliers, and can keep a busy parts operation running properly.

You do not need someone standing over you telling you what needs doing. You will take ownership of the department, make sure customers get what they need and keep stock, orders and suppliers under control.

The role

  • Running the day to day parts operation
  • Handling customer enquiries and identifying the correct parts
  • Ordering parts from manufacturers and suppliers
  • Managing stock levels and availability
  • Producing quotations and processing orders
  • Building strong relationships with customers and suppliers
  • Keeping on top of lead times, pricing and margins
  • Supporting engineers and the wider service team with parts requirements
  • Looking for ways to improve the efficiency and commercial performance of the department

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
