Passenger Assistant (Part Time, Term Time Only)

πŸ•’ Hours: Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)

Split Shifts: 7:00am - 9:00am and 2:00pm - 4:00pm

We are looking for compassionate and enthusiastic Passenger Assistants to support children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities on their journeys to and from school. As a Passenger Assistant, you will accompany children on school transport and help ensure their safety and wellbeing throughout their journey. Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting children and young people with special educational needs during transport to and from school.
  • Promoting safe, positive and appropriate behaviour while travelling.
  • Assisting with wheelchair restraints, safety harnesses and other equipment where required.
  • Communicating with parents, schools and transport providers.
  • Maintaining passenger registers and ensuring children are safely handed over to a parent, carer or school staff member.
  • Reporting any incidents or concerns and following safeguarding and safety procedures.

What we're looking for

Previous experience working with children or individuals with special educational needs is beneficial, but not essential. Full training, including Paediatric First Aid, will be provided.
