An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Passenger Transport Infrastructure Assistant to join our Passenger Transport Team at Hampshire County Council. Are you looking for a challenging and diverse role working as part of a friendly and supportive team, with an opportunity to make a real difference? The Passenger Transport Team plays an important role in delivering local bus infrastructure to the bus network across Hampshire.


The Role:

As a member of the Passenger Transport Team, you will work in a small team delivering upgrades to bus stop infrastructure at a variety of locations on Hampshire's local bus network and to support the local bus infrastructure team with relevant tasks.


What you’ll do:

As part of Hampshire's Local Bus Infrastructure Team, you'll help improve and maintain bus stop facilities across the county. The role includes surveying bus stop infrastructure, identifying and planning required improvements, installing new assets such as timetable cases, flags and poles, and carrying out minor maintenance works. You'll also work closely with contractors and suppliers to deliver infrastructure upgrades and ensure all installations meet accessibility standards and relevant legislation, helping to provide a safe, accessible and high-quality experience for bus passengers.

We're looking for a practical, self-motivated individual with experience of hands-on maintenance or manual tasks that require a high level of attention to detail. You'll be confident working independently, managing your workload effectively, and taking ownership of tasks with minimal supervision. A strong awareness of health and safety is essential, including the ability to identify potential risks and accurately report accidents, incidents and near misses. Above all, you'll be reliable, proactive and committed to maintaining high standards in everything you do.
