Role Description
The Passive Contract Manager is responsible for overseeing passive fire protection contracts from initiation through completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in line with regulatory and quality standards. Day-to-day tasks include coordinating site activities, managing subcontractors and suppliers, reviewing specifications and drawings, and monitoring installation of passive fire protection measures such as fire doors, compartmentation, and penetration sealing. The role involves preparing and maintaining project documentation, conducting site inspections, reporting progress to senior management and clients, and ensuring adherence to health, safety, and environmental policies. The Passive Contract Manager will also support tender preparation, cost control, and variations, and contribute to continuous improvement in processes and service delivery. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Rochester.

Qualifications

- Experience managing construction or fire protection contracts, including planning, coordination, and delivery of medium to large-scale projects.
- Strong knowledge of passive fire protection systems, building regulations, and relevant British Standards, along with practical site management experience.
- Proficiency in project documentation, reporting, and use of basic project management and office software (e.g., MS Office, scheduling tools).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with clients, site teams, and subcontractors.
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, timelines, and resources, including risk identification and mitigation.
- Relevant qualification in construction management, fire safety, engineering, or a related field; professional certifications in fire protection or health and safety (e.g., NEBOSH, FIRAS-related training) are an advantage.
- Strong commitment to health, safety, quality, and environmental standards, aligned with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 principles.
- Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel to project sites as required.
