Hive PFP provides independent, impartial specialist consultancy and technical services to help construction projects achieve and maintain effective fire compartmentation and structural fire resistance in line with regulatory and industry standards. The company’s services include resolving non-compliances through technical assessments, specifying firestopping systems, fire doors, cavity barriers, and steel protection systems, and reviewing documents and technical details. Hive PFP also carries out site inspections aligned with industry standards such as the PFPF guide, Approved Document B, and relevant BS and EN test methodologies. Role Description
The Passive Fire Protection Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in the UK. The specialist will assess building designs, specifications, and construction details to ensure compliance with passive fire protection standards and project requirements. Daily tasks include:

- Conducting site inspections
- Reviewing installation quality of firestopping systems, cavity barriers, fire doors, and structural protection
- Preparing clear technical reports and recommendations (site based roles)
- Collaborating with contractors, designers, and clients to address non-compliances, recommend remedial solutions, and support the development of fire protection strategies (consultancy roles)

All specialists will also stay current with relevant codes, standards, and test methodologies to inform best practice and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise in Fire Prevention and Fire Safety in building and construction environments.
- Practical experience in Fire Protection Engineering and the design or assessment of passive fire protection solutions.
- Knowledge of Fire Suppression Systems and related active fire protection measures, and their interaction with passive systems.
- Understanding of relevant national and international standards (e.g., BS, EN, ADB etc.).
- Experience in technical reporting, document review, and site inspection within construction or engineering projects.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to communicate complex technical information clearly to diverse stakeholders.
- Degree or professional qualification in fire engineering, building services, construction management, or a related discipline such as IFE Level 3 in PFP is preferred.
- Ability to travel throughout the UK, manage time effectively, and collaborate in multidisciplinary project teams.
