Pastoral Care Officer

Do you have a passion for supporting children's mental health and wellbeing? Are you approachable, compassionate and dependable, whilst also being resilient and adaptable? If so, we would love to hear from you.

At the heart of our school is a commitment to ensuring that every child feels safe, valued and able to flourish. Our inclusive ethos is rooted in our Christian values of Courage, Compassion and Respect, which guide our relationships with children, families and colleagues every day.

We are seeking a caring and dedicated Pastoral Care Officer to join our established pastoral team. Working alongside two experienced colleagues and our teaching staff, you will provide an additional layer of support for children and families across the primary age range. Through nurturing relationships, you will help children develop emotional resilience, self-esteem and confidence, enabling them to overcome barriers and thrive both personally and academically. Working 15hrs per week, term-time only (38.6 weeks).

Our wonderful school grounds and outdoor spaces play an important role in supporting wellbeing, alongside our dedicated home-from-home wellbeing bases, The Den, The Burrow and The Hive. These spaces provide children with opportunities to feel calm, connected and supported, and are central to our nurturing approach.

You will work closely with children, families and staff, sharing strategies and resources that strengthen support for our most vulnerable pupils. As a compassionate listener and trusted adult, you will play a key role in promoting children's wellbeing, improving engagement and helping families access the support they need.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
