About the Role
Are you an experienced pastoral professional who believes every child deserves the opportunity to succeed?
At Ashley Park School, we're looking for an exceptional Pastoral Coordinator to join our Senior Leadership Team. This is an exciting opportunity to lead our pastoral provision, helping pupils overcome barriers to learning, develop resilience and build the confidence they need to thrive both in school and beyond.
This is more than a pastoral role, it's an opportunity to shape a positive school culture where pupils feel safe, supported and ready to learn. Working closely with the Headteacher, Senior Leadership Team, therapists and teaching staff, you'll champion trauma-informed practice, positive behaviour support and pupil wellbeing, ensuring every child receives the personalised support they need to achieve their potential.
If you're passionate about improving outcomes for children with additional needs and want to be part of a collaborative, forward-thinking school where your leadership will have a lasting impact, we'd love to hear from you.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and develop the school's pastoral and behaviour support strategy, creating a positive, inclusive environment where every pupil can flourish.
- Champion trauma-informed, relational and restorative approaches, coaching and supporting colleagues to deliver consistent, high-quality pastoral care.
- Support pupils to develop emotional regulation, resilience and positive behaviours that enable them to succeed in school.
- Analyse behaviour, attendance and wellbeing data to identify trends and implement strategies that improve pupil outcomes.
- Provide guidance and support during challenging situations, helping pupils successfully regulate and return to learning.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, families and external agencies to ensure every pupil receives joined-up, personalised support.
- Build strong, positive relationships with parents and carers, promoting consistency between home and school.
- Act as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead, contributing to a strong safeguarding culture across the school.
- Contribute to whole-school improvement, mentoring colleagues and supporting the ongoing development of pastoral practice.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
