Pastoral Support
Full-time, term time only
At New Forest Care, we are looking to recruit a Pastoral Support worker to join our wonderful school based on the I.O.W (Split site - Sandown & Newport). The role will support the Pastoral Support Lead in creating the right ‘climate’ for all students to maximise their achievements. Applicants must have at least 1 years’ experience as a TA/Tutor or a similar child facing role.
About the Role
New Forest School is an Ofsted outstanding, small independent school with an excellent reputation for working with vulnerable students. In addition to the bespoke educational service offered by our school, our Outdoor Learning Centre provides an alternative route to engaging children in their education for those who have not been able to do so in the standard school learning environment.
The successful candidate will support all students to achieve their potential by following formulated action plans to help with behaviour and attendance.

Responsibilities
- Complete and where required monitor behaviour referrals and incidents.
- Provide input where required to the Pastoral Support Lead and other staff in the formulation of or review of action plans.
- Use Tracker to record issues and identify potential issues.
- Collate evidence for success or further intervention as required.
- Liaise with classroom teachers to intervene where students need support to achieve their potential.
- Work with the Pastoral Support Lead monitor attendance and punctuality plans.
- Manage Parent/Carer/Home liaison where needed.
- Support the creation and implementation of Individual Behaviour Plans.
- Supervision of students at lunchtime, break, moving around the school site and in assemblies.
- Work with other staff to share good practice/offer support to one another on a regular basis.
- Promote a culture and practices that enables all students to access the curriculum.
