Do you have a strong desire to see students succeed? If so, we want to hear from you!

Kingston College is seeking a Pastoral Tutor.

This is an exciting new role aimed at improving the learner experience and improving the positive progression of all learners.

As a Pastoral Tutor, you will:

  • Track and monitor the progress of a specific amount of our Further Education learners.
  • Conduct 1:1 meetings with learners.
  • Deliver College group tutorial programmes.
  • Liaise with members of staff and parents/guardians regarding learner progress.
  • Signpost learners to wider support as and when needed.
  • Be a part of the College Safeguarding team which will include supporting a caseload of students.

We’d like our Pastoral Tutors to have:

  • Experience of delivering student workshops or tutorials to a diverse range of students.
  • Experience of supporting student progress on a 1:1 basis.
  • Experience of youth and community work.
  • A clear understanding of the needs of students and how these may be met.

You’ll be an excellent communicator with good interpersonal skills. You’ll be able to develop and maintain positive working relationships with people and work well as part of a high performing team. A Level 3 qualification in Youth & Community, Education, Psychology, Sociology or Health & Social Care would put you at an advantage, but it’s important to know that this is by no means essential. Experience of careers advice and guidance is also desirable.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
