Pastry Chef, Cake Department
If, after reading the role description below, you'd like to apply, please send your CV and a cover letter to bakeryhiring+pc@galeta.co.uk explaining why this role and why now.
Galeta is on a mission to become the best-loved wholesale bakery in the UK.
We already supply more than 1,500 of the country's best cafés, restaurants, hotels and food businesses every day of the week. We're growing fast, investing in our systems and building a business capable of becoming much bigger.
We are now looking for a Pastry Chef who can help make our Cake Department a genuine centre of excellence.
About us
Galeta is one of London's leading wholesale bakery groups.
For more than 15 years, we have grown by making brilliant products, delivering them reliably and building lasting relationships with our customers. We bake for over 1,500 cafés, restaurants, hotels and food businesses across the UK from our bakeries in Hayes and Brixton, supported by our head office in Farringdon. Everything is handmade with natural ingredients, delivered fresh, leading us to ten Great Taste Awards and counting.
To be the best-loved bakery, everything we make needs to be made to the Galeta standard, every single time.
That is where you come in.
The role
You'll join our Cake Department, working alongside the Head of Cake to help make it a genuine centre of excellence.
Your primary job is to make our cake products, consistently, to the standard they are meant to be made to. Every recipe followed properly. Every process followed properly. Every single time.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
