Duties and responsibilities related to the Pastry Chef de Partie role

  • Take ownership of your assigned pastry section, ensuring desserts, pastries, and baked goods are consistently prepared and presented to the highest standards while supporting junior colleagues throughout service.
  • Maintain exceptional standards of cleanliness, organisation, and food safety, ensuring your section is always service-ready and fully compliant with hygiene and health and safety requirements.
  • Follow recipes, specifications, and portion controls accurately while minimising waste and contributing to effective stock management and food cost control.
  • Support the training and development of Commis Chefs and Demi Chef de Parties, sharing knowledge, and helping to build a collaborative and high-performing pastry team.
  • Work closely with the wider kitchen brigade to deliver memorable dining experiences, contributing creative ideas, adapting to guest requests where possible, and making the most of seasonal ingredients and new products.

About you

  • You have previous experience as a Pastry Chef de Partie, or strong experience as a Demi Chef de Partie ready to take the next step, within a high-end lifestyle hotel or quality restaurant.
  • You have a solid understanding of pastry techniques, baking methods, and dessert presentation, and are confident managing your own section in a busy service environment.
  • You have a collaborative approach, strong attention to detail, and take pride in maintaining excellent food hygiene and safety standards.
  • Organised and reliable, you enjoy supporting your colleagues and are eager to continue developing your career within Hyatt.
