Pastry Chef required - Canary Wharf - Earn up to £42,000
We are looking for a hands-on, professional, and commercially minded Pastry Chef to lead the pastry operation at one of our sites in a prestigious French bank in Canary Wharf.
Working Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 4:00pm (40 hours per week), you will provide a patisserie counter showcasing classic French and English sweet treats for two coffee bars (minimum 8 options), this menu will change weekly.
Alongside a Brasserie menu serving approximately 30 covers that will change every month or when seasonally possible. We also offer a hospitality events alongside the brasserie menu, including some evenings.
Service Hours
- Breakfast: 7:30am to 11:30am
- Patisserie counter: cakes to be ready for 10am.
- Brasserie Lunch service: 12:00pm to 2:00pm
What You'll Be Doing As a Pastry Chef
- Lead and manage a seasonal five-week pastry menu cycle across patisserie counters, ensuring menus meet Restaurant Associates standards while maintaining strong GP performance.
- Develop and deliver a high-quality pastry offering for our seasonal hospitality brochure, including engaging training and team-building workshops such as chocolatier and bread-making masterclasses.
- Run a Brasserie dessert menu that showcases elegance, seasonality and sustainability, while ensuring every dessert is beautifully presented, delicious, accurately costed and delivers an exceptional customer experience.
- Develop a monthly-changing bread course that showcases creativity, technical skill and seasonal ingredients.
- Build strong relationships across the kitchen team, inspire high performance and continuously drive quality and culinary standards forward.
- Ensure full compliance with HACCP, food safety, allergen management and recipe specifications.
- Take ownership of stock control, purchasing and food costs, using weekly and monthly reporting to monitor and maintain financial performance.

What You'll Need To Succeed As a Pastry Chef
- Strong pastry experience with a passion for creating high-quality, seasonal and visually appealing desserts.
- French culinary knowledge and techniques are advantageous, but not essential.
- Confident bread-making skills, with a strong understanding of different breads, doughs and fermentation techniques.
- Excellent knowledge of food safety, HACCP, allergen management and recipe compliance.
- Strong commercial awareness, with experience in recipe costing, GP management, purchasing and stock control.
- Creative and passionate about developing seasonal menus and introducing new ideas.
- A natural leader who can inspire and develop a team while building strong relationships across the kitchen.
- Organised, detail-focused and able to maintain consistently high standards in a fast-paced environment.
