Position Title: Pastry Chef (Sr CDP)
Reports To:
Sous Chef / Head Chef
Responsible For:
Supporting Breakfast, Lunch, In-Room Dining, and Dinner services

Role Description
As the Pastry Chef (Sr CDP) at...At Sloane, you will play a pivotal role in creating exceptional desserts and baked goods that elevate our guests’ dining experience to unforgettable heights. Guided by the vision of our Head Chef, you will contribute to the refined yet welcoming atmosphere that defines our hotel.
This role is ideal for a passionate pastry professional who thrives in a dynamic, high-standard environment and leads by example in the kitchen. You will be responsible for all aspects of pastry production—overseeing daily preparation, presentation, and service to ensure each dish is executed to perfection.

Key Responsibilities

Culinary Excellence & Creativity:
- Design, develop, and execute a diverse range of desserts, pastries, and baked goods that reflect the hotel’s signature style and high standards.
- Maintain consistent quality, presentation, and taste that meet the expectations of our discerning clientele.
- Collaborate with the Head Chef and kitchen team to ensure seamless integration of pastry items within overall menu concepts.

Operational Leadership:
- Manage daily pastry kitchen operations, including preparation, baking, and plating, ensuring timely and efficient service.
- Oversee inventory, ordering, and waste control to maintain budget and minimise losses without compromising quality.
- Ensure strict adherence to hygiene, safety, and sanitation standards in compliance with legal and company policies.

Guest Experience & Quality Assurance:
- Work closely with the front-of-house team to accommodate guest requests and dietary needs with flexibility and professionalism.
- Participate in menu tastings and staff training sessions to ensure everyone understands the nuances of the pastry offerings.
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Pastry Chef in a luxury hotel or fine dining environment.
- Deep knowledge of classic and contemporary pastry techniques, with a passion for artistic presentation.
- Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to maintain composure and precision during high-volume service.
- Familiarity with dietary restrictions and alternative ingredients (gluten-free, vegan, etc.) is a plus.
- Passion for sourcing the finest ingredients and maintaining impeccable quality standards.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of French culinary terminology or language is desirable but not essential.
