Qualified Engineering Attorney
UK Offices | Hybrid | Permanent | Full-Time
About the Role
This is a genuine opportunity to join EIP Dynamics, our dedicated engineering group, and take on a high-calibre caseload of genuinely interesting engineering inventions.
We're looking for an additional qualified attorney — ideally NQ–3 PQE — to work for a collection of household names active in the engineering space. Whilst other firms often blend engineering with IT or other physics-related technologies, our Dynamics group is a focused, dedicated engineering team working on genuine 'oil up the arms' engineering products.
If you're passionate about engineering and love original drafting, this role is made for you. Our portfolio of direct clients offers a consistent, varied caseload — so you'll stay hands-on with the technically complex work you enjoy, while collaborating with talented colleagues across borders and teams.
What You'll Do
- Take on a consistent caseload of original drafting for a portfolio of direct clients, including household names in the engineering space
- Handle high-value, technically complex engineering patent matters end to end
- Collaborate across borders and teams as part of a focused, dedicated engineering group
- Contribute to a high-performance culture where diligence, accountability and curiosity are genuinely valued

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What You'll Bring
We're looking for someone diligent, accountable, curious and genuinely collaborative. You'll bring:
- Qualification as a patent attorney, ideally NQ–3 PQE (with some flexibility for the right person)

- Consistent drafting experience over multiple years, both pre- and post-qualification
- A real interest in engineering and the kind of hands-on technology that defines our Dynamics group
