Patent Attorney – Biotechnology / Life Sciences / Chemistry

Location: Crawley, UK (Predominantly office-based)
Position: Full-time, Permanent

Are you a fully qualified Patent Attorney looking for a high-impact role with direct client engagement and clear pathways for progression? We are partnering with a highly regarded, established UK Intellectual Property firm seeking a talented attorney to manage a dynamic, broad portfolio.

This is an exceptional opportunity for an attorney who thrives in a collaborative, close-knit firm culture where your work directly shapes client strategy and commercial success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Portfolio Management: Take immediate ownership of a diverse workflow spanning biotechnology, life sciences, and chemistry.
  • Commercial Advisory: Provide clear, pragmatic legal and commercial advice directly to client leadership, moving beyond basic technical execution.
  • Client Relationship Building: Maintain and grow trusted relationships with a broad spectrum of clients, from early-stage startups to international corporations.
  • Cross-Disciplinary Handling: Adapt flexibly across technical boundaries, applying your foundational knowledge to a variety of related subject matters.

What We Are Looking For

  • Qualification: Fully qualified Patent Attorney (ideally 1–3 years PQE, though candidate applications slightly outside this range are welcome).
  • Technical Background: Strong academic and professional background in Biotechnology, Life Sciences, or Chemistry.
  • Broad Curiosity: A strong willingness to handle technical matters outside your core domain.
  • Mindset & Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills, strong commercial acumen, and a proactive, adaptable approach suited to a small-firm environment.
