Join our global pharmaceutical client in a hybrid Patent Paralegal role combining patent attorney support and patent docketing responsibilities across a sophisticated international patent portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Support a team of patent attorneys across a broad range of patent prosecution, portfolio management, and intellectual property matters.
- Prepare and coordinate patent filings, prosecution documents, correspondence, and related patent support activities.
- Manage patent docketing activities, including monitoring deadlines, official actions, and critical filing dates.
- Maintain accurate patent portfolio records and case data within the company's IP management system.
- Coordinate with outside counsel, patent offices, inventors, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely progression of patent matters.
- Assist with national, European, and PCT patent administration and portfolio support.
- Help manage competing priorities across attorney support, prosecution, litigation-related activities, and docketing responsibilities.
- Contribute to a collaborative IP operations team supporting a sophisticated global patent portfolio.
What You'll Do
- Provide day-to-day support to patent attorneys across prosecution, portfolio management, and IP operations.
- Manage patent docketing activities and monitor critical deadlines.
- Prepare and coordinate patent filings, correspondence, and related documentation.
- Support national, European, and PCT patent matters.
- Maintain accurate patent portfolio records using IP management systems such as Anaqua.
- Partner with internal stakeholders, inventors, and outside counsel to advance patent matters efficiently.
- Balance attorney support responsibilities with ongoing docketing and portfolio administration work.

Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of patent paralegal experience supporting patent attorneys.
- Demonstrated experience with both patent prosecution support and patent docketing.
- Understanding of domestic and international patent filing processes.
- Experience managing deadlines across active patent portfolios.
- Ability to successfully balance deadline-driven docketing responsibilities with attorney support work.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage competing priorities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Epiq Counsel partners with industry-leading clients in support of their sophisticated interim talent needs. Must be interested in practicing in an alternative, fixed-term legal services model.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or life sciences patent portfolios.
- CIPA qualification, EPAC certification, or similar intellectual property credential.
- Experience using Anaqua or similar IP management systems.
- Experience supporting PCT, European, and national patent filings.
Working Arrangement
Secondment Engagement
- Expected 12+ months, with potential for long-term extension.
- Hybrid role with a minimum of two days per week onsite in Bracknell.
- Convenient location approximately 10 minutes' walk from the Bracknell train station, offering an easy commute from London.
