Breast Pathway Coordinator
We are looking for an organised, motivated and patient-focused individual to join our team as a Breast Pathway Coordinator. You will provide an efficient and responsive administrative service supporting patients throughout their pathway of care.
Working closely with consultants, clinical teams, and administrative colleagues, you will coordinate patient pathways, manage and monitor waiting lists, arrange appointments, and ensure patients progress through their pathway in a timely manner. You will act as a key point of contact for patients and clinical colleagues, responding to enquiries professionally, sensitively, and courteously.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and monitor Breast patient pathways and waiting lists.
- Book appointments and communicate appointment details to patients.
- Act as a point of contact for patients, clinical teams, and other departments.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient information on Trust systems.
- Review and validate waiting lists in line with relevant targets and booking procedures.
- Prepare patient notes, results, and other information required for appointments or admissions.
- Manage cancellations, queries, and pathway issues, escalating concerns where appropriate.
- Provide patients with non-clinical information about appointments, waiting times, and booking processes.
- Work closely with consultants, outpatient teams, wards, and support services to ensure the smooth progression of patients.
- Bring urgent results or correspondence to the attention of the appropriate clinical team.
- Work in accordance with Trust policies, patient access requirements, and Referral to Treatment principles.
- Support colleagues and contribute to the effective day-to-day running of the Breast pathway service.

Requirements
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- High level of accuracy and the ability to prioritise a busy workload.
- Experience of working within an NHS administrative or patient/customer care environment.
- Understanding of patient pathways, waiting-list management, and Referral to Treatment (RTT) principles.
