Elective Access Coordinator
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Renal and Transplant Administration Team as an Elective Access Coordinator based at the Churchill Hospital, Oxford. This is a full-time, fixed-term position for 12 months, providing maternity leave cover.
The successful candidate will be highly organised, adaptable, and able to work effectively as part of a busy team. They will possess excellent communication and customer service skills, with a commitment to providing a high-quality service to patients, clinicians, and colleagues.
We are looking for a motivated individual who is keen to learn new skills, embrace new challenges, and develop their knowledge within elective patient access and administration. This role offers an excellent opportunity for personal and professional development, with the potential to broaden responsibilities and progress through the pay scale as competencies are achieved.
Working within a supportive and dynamic team, the post holder will play a key role in managing patient pathways and ensuring patients receive timely access to care in line with Trust standards and targets.
The Patient Access Coordinator will provide a comprehensive administration and patient pathway management service to support the delivery of high-quality patient care within the Renal and Transplant Directorate.

The post holder will be responsible for managing patient pathways from referral through to treatment, ensuring compliance with national and local access standards, including the 18-week Referral to Treatment (RTT) pathway, diagnostic waiting time standards and elective access targets.
Working closely with consultants, nursing staff, theatre scheduling teams, operational managers and external organisations, the post holder will coordinate outpatient, inpatient and day-case pathways, arrange elective admissions and theatre bookings, monitor waiting lists and proactively manage capacity to ensure patients receive timely access to care.
The role requires excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills, together with the ability to prioritise workloads effectively within a busy environment. The post holder will contribute to service development initiatives, support performance management and deliver an excellent patient experience consistent with Trust values.
