Patient Administration Officer (PAO) – Leeds
Are you ready to embark on an exciting journey as a Patient Administration Officer (PAO) at our brand-new cancer care centre in Leeds, opening in December 2026? Join our dedicated team at GenesisCare UK and be part of something extraordinary.
As a Patient Administration Officer with us, you'll shape an exceptional patient experience from Day one. This is a unique opportunity to join a pioneering team at the start of an exciting new chapter, supporting patients through every step of their cancer care journey while building your career with the UK's leading independent cancer care provider.
What You'll Do
- Providing all patients with a courtesy call within 24 hours of receiving a referral.
- Supporting consultants, medical secretaries, and clinical teams throughout the patient referral pathway.
- Processing referrals and appointments accurately and efficiently.
- Providing patients with clear information regarding appointments and treatment plans.
- Liaising with NHS Trusts, hospitals, and internal teams to ensure a seamless patient journey.
- Booking additional support services such as wellbeing programmes, exercise medicine, and transport services.
- Managing appointment scheduling for patients, consultants, and staff.
- Maintaining accurate referral and patient information within MOSAIQ.
- Completing reception duties and acting as the first point of contact for patients and visitors.
- Ensuring patient confidentiality is maintained at all times.
- Supporting and mentoring new team members where required.

What You'll Have
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Previous experience working within a busy reception or administrative environment.
- Strong customer service and relationship-building skills.
- Experience working within a customer-focused role.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- An empathetic and patient-centred approach.
- Experience resolving complaints professionally.
- Microsoft Office proficiency including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- MOSAIQ experience advantageous.
- Healthcare sector experience preferred.
Training & Development (Minimum Requirement)
Onboarding
- Off-site placements: A minimum of 1 month at established GenesisCare centres, gaining hands-on experience within the role. Placements are delivered in structured blocks and require weekday residence near the host centre.
- Travel expectations: Regular national travel and overnight stays during the onboarding period are an essential requirement.
