Full-Time Ophthalmology Administrator

About Newmedica

Newmedica is one of the leading providers of NHS-funded ophthalmology services in England. Our purpose is to make a difference. Our vision is a society where everyone can get access to free or affordable world-class treatment for advanced eye conditions without any unnecessary delay or worry. Our mission is to revolutionize the care and treatment for patients facing the prospect of sight loss by creating a new national network of specialist eye clinics that have a seamless link with all optometrists and GPs.

We provide services for NHS ICBs, NHS Trusts, and Foundation Trusts, and other providers of NHS-funded services. We deliver over 125,000 patient interactions annually, including outpatient appointments, diagnostic testing, and eye surgery. Our services are delivered through a variety of models including Managed Services and Ophthalmology Joint Venture (OJV) Partnerships.

Role Overview

We offer a flexible, rota-based working pattern designed to support both our team and the needs of the service. Shifts are scheduled between 07:30 and 18:00, which can be worked as a 10-hour day or a mix of early and later finishes. You’ll receive your rota two months in advance, helping you plan your time outside of work.

You’ll be expected to work one weekend day per month, which may be paid as overtime or included within your contracted hours.

From time to time, we run a late evening shift until 21:00. You would also be expected to cover 1 per month - However, these are less common and always planned well ahead, with at least two months’ notice given.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
