Patient Safety Learning Response Lead

Role Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Patient Safety Team for a Patient Safety Learning Response Lead to support how the Trust identifies, analyses and shares learning from patient safety events. The postholder will work collaboratively with clinical and non-clinical teams, using subject matter expertise to interpret findings and contribute to recommendations that strengthen organisational learning and patient safety.

The postholder will also support the development of a positive, restorative and learning-focused culture, producing learning bulletins, safety alerts and contributing to patient safety policy and guidance, including PSIRF-related documents.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to provision of advice, support and guidance when serious patient safety events occur
• Produce learning bulletins, safety alerts and notices and ensure they are communicated across the Trust
• Collate, analyse and interpret and report on patient safety related qualitative and quantitative data and information, identifying and analysing trends or themes
• Work collaboratively with the Network Quality teams, legal team and complaints team to ensure triangulation of all incidents within the Trust and analyse findings to highlight quality and safety priorities ensuring that quality, risk and safety related data contributes to the whole system view of care
• The post holder will be communicating with staff and patients regarding areas of patient safety learning and presenting detail from analysis of safety data for high level forums and groups
• Communicate complex and sensitive information to staff, patients, senior leaders and external agencies, and present learning at high-level forums and groups
• Develop programme plans to progress learning and improvement work, ensuring delivery within agreed timeframes.
