Summary
The Patient Service Representative is responsible for the patient check-in process, updating computer patient personal information and insurance information, handling a multi-line phone system, medical records filing and maintenance, and collection of co-pays and cash payments.

Responsibilities
Essential Functions
- Performs opening and closing clinic duties
- Greets patients, checks in for appointments and verifies insurance
- Scans documents into electronic health record
- Maintains tidiness of waiting area and reception counter throughout the day
- Checks schedules for added, canceled and no-show appointments throughout the day
- Schedules follow up appointments as needed
- Responds to designated tasks in the electronic health record
- Orders clinic office supplies
- Sells and tracks cosmetic products
- Distributes mail
- Prepares for next day scheduled appointments

Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- High school diploma or equivalent is required
- 1+ years of recent medical office experience or in a similar capacity is preferred
- Proficient in basic computer functions
- Ability to learn new software quickly
- Must possess excellent customer service, communication and organizational skills
- Ability to operate standard office equipment
- Ability to type a minimum of 40 wpm is preferred
- Must possess attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize appropriately, and work well both individually and as part of a team
- Ability to respond positively to constructive feedback and direction from supervisors
- Must demonstrate professional appearance and manner at all times
- Must display a friendly, cheerful, tactful, and polite demeanor, and must be compassionate and caring in dealing with others
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of information
