Haywards Heath Hospital | Administration | Ad hoc | Part time

Salary £13.10 per hour

Our Patient Services Team at our Haywards Heath Hospital currently have an opportunity for a Bank Patient Services Administrator. Start your journey with us whilst we’ll support you to be your best.

You’ll be a smart, friendly and enthusiastic member of the team providing vital administrative support in both front-line and back office roles. Duties include acting as first point of contact for all visitors to the Hospital, handling and managing incoming calls, scheduling appointments both face to face and via the phone and supporting several departments including Medical Records / Pre-Assessment / Outpatients. Your IT and organisational skills will be supported by an excellent telephone manner. You will interact with Consultants, Patients, and Colleagues, being sensitive to our customers’ needs and providing excellent customer service at all times. Administration and keyboard skills are required along with a high level of attention to detail. Previous experience of working in customer service environment is preferred, but not essential. Full training will be provided.

Key tasks

  • Meeting and greeting patients
  • Answering incoming calls, dealing with enquiries and arranging appointments
  • Preparing clinic paperwork
  • Registering customers and providing clear directions to the relevant areas of the hospital
  • Providing administrative support to clinical teams as required
  • High level of accuracy in data inputting and able to work under pressure
  • Flexibility in working pattern and duties
  • Flexibility to cover evening and weekend shifts is essential
  • Ability to learn and work across a number of departments as required
  • Previous Knowledge or experience of working within healthcare administration / reception or hospitality industry is preferable but not essential
  • Good IT and Keyboard Skills Required
  • Good communication/interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work alone and a part of a team
  • Well presented with strong customer service skills
