We provide soft and hard facilities services, including ICT, Patient Records, Switchboard, Procurement, Finance, and Clinical Engineering. The Role

The Domestic Services Department offers a cleaning service to Hospital departments and communal areas, ensuring a pleasant, hygienic, and comfortable environment for patients through high-quality domestic services.

Vacancies

We have the following under 20 hours vacancies. Please specify your preferred vacancy on the supporting information part of your application form:

  • Neonatal: 14 hours from 07:00 to 11:00
  • Hasland Ward: 9 hours from 09:00 to 14:00
  • UECD: 6 hours from 17:00 to 20:00

Rota

The rota is based on an average of 14 hours per week, working on a rota basis, which will include some weekends and bank holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Clean specific areas in line with training and approved methods, adhering to NHS National cleaning standards and frequencies.
  • Work in accordance with the day-to-day schedule, as directed.
  • Safely utilize mechanical and electrical cleaning equipment following appropriate training and ensure the cleanliness of domestic services equipment after use.
  • Work to prevent the spread of infection by following the National colour code system.
  • Ensure that cleaning cupboards are locked and secured when not in use and be responsible for the security of keys issued to these areas.
  • Ensure compliance with mandatory training and attend other relevant training as directed.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant hospital policies and procedures.
  • Report accidents, near misses, or unsafe situations to take appropriate action.
  • Treat patients, visitors, and staff with dignity and respect.
  • Undertake specialist cleans where knowledge of differing cleaning methodologies is required, using specific PPE.
  • Undertake any other duties appropriate to the role or as requested by line management.
  • Undertake actions arising from cleaning audits within agreed timescales.
