Patient Services Receptionist – Leeds

Are you ready to embark on an exciting journey as a Patient Services Receptionist at our brand-new cancer care centre in Leeds, opening in December 2026? Join our dedicated team at GenesisCare UK and be part of something extraordinary.

As a Patient Services Receptionist with us, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting the patient referral pathway, ensuring appointments are booked efficiently and delivering exceptional customer service to patients and visitors attending the centre. What You'll Do

  • Be the first point of contact for patients, visitors, consultants and colleagues attending the centre.
  • Provide a professional, friendly and welcoming reception service.
  • Answer and direct telephone enquiries promptly and efficiently.
  • Support Patient Administration Officers with administrative tasks as required.
  • Assist patients in the waiting area, ensuring they are informed and supported throughout their visit.
  • Manage patient arrivals through MOSAIQ and support patient flow within the centre.
  • Prepare, print and scan patient documentation accurately.
  • Coordinate patient transport arrangements where required.
  • Ensure patient questionnaires and relevant paperwork are completed.
  • Maintain a clean, organised and welcoming reception environment.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing post and support general centre administration.
  • Order and maintain reception supplies and stock levels.
  • Support daily centre checks and administrative processes.
  • Ensure patient confidentiality is maintained at all times.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to provide exceptional patient care and service.

What You'll Bring

  • Previous experience working within a busy reception or front-of-house environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong customer service and relationship-building abilities.
  • Experience working within a customer-focused role.
  • An empathetic and patient-centred approach.
  • Experience handling queries or complaints professionally and effectively.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Experience within healthcare would be advantageous, although not essential.
  • Experience using MOSAIQ would be beneficial but not required.
  • A positive, flexible and collaborative approach to team working.

Training & Development (Minimum Requirement)

Onboarding

  • Off-site placements: A minimum of 1 month at established GenesisCare centres, gaining hands-on experience within the role. Placements are delivered in structured blocks and require weekday residence near the host centre.
  • Travel expectations: Regular national travel and overnight stays during the onboarding period are an essential requirement.
