Patrol Officer
Are you passionate about serving your community and ensuring its safety? Join our team as a Patrol Officer at the Eastham Police Department and play a vital role in community engagement and safety.
The Eastham Police Department has a vacancy for a full-time, 40-hour per week Patrol Officer. As a Patrol Officer, you will be responsible for efficiently performing various duties in compliance with the rules, regulations, and policies outlined by Eastham Police Department. Your duties will include general police responsibilities aimed at ensuring the stability and safety of the community.
The candidate must be a U.S. Citizen, at least 21 years of age, have a valid Massachusetts Driver License, and possess or be able to obtain a MA license to carry a firearm. Possession of a bachelor’s degree is preferred, however those with equivalent training, experience or other positive attributes will be considered. The candidate must pass a battery of physical, psychological and drug tests, along with an extensive background investigation, and be able to perform the duties and responsibilities of a Police Officer.
Experienced MPTC/POST certified Police Officers are encouraged to apply for lateral transfer. We value the expertise that experienced officers bring and are committed to offering a compensation and benefits package that reflects your years of service and professional experience. As a lateral transfer officer, you will be able to transition into a new role with a salary and benefits that directly reflect the experience you have gained at your current or previous department.

The starting salary range for new officers $70,024 to $111,033. In addition to competitive salary this position is eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance; employee assistance and wellness programs; participation in the Barnstable County Retirement System; and generous paid time off, including vacation, personal days, and holidays. The Eastham Police Department has a desirable “5 on, 3 off” schedule and opportunities for growth.
