PatternBuilder Legal Tech & Document Automation Specialist (PatternBuilder)

6-Month Fixed Term Contract (FTC) or Contractor (Inside IR35)
Salary / Rate
Up to £90,000 pro-rata or up to £350 per day
About the Role
In this role, you will act as our primary specialist for PatternBuilder document assembly and workflow automation, taking ownership of existing PatternBuilder apps and building out critical legal workflows. This position offers high working flexibility, allowing for a predominantly remote setup with minimal required travel to the London office.
Key Responsibilities
- Workflow & Document Automation: Design, build, test, and maintain dynamic document assembly templates and guided intake forms using NetDocuments PatternBuilder.
- Logic & Data Modelling: Implement complex conditional logic, data tables, calculations, and loops to streamline document creation.
- System Maintenance: Ensure seamless integration between PatternBuilder, Word templates, and our NetDocuments workspace environment.
- User Support & Troubleshooting: Act as the technical point of contact for internal teams to resolve app issues and update existing automated templates.
- Documentation: Maintain clear documentation for built workflows to ensure smooth operational continuity.

What We Are Looking For
- Direct PatternBuilder Experience: Proven hands-on experience building and administering apps within NetDocuments PatternBuilder (or Afterpattern) is essential.
- NetDocuments Ecosystem: Good working knowledge of the broader NetDocuments platform, workspaces, and cabinet structures.
- Legal Tech & Workflow Logic: Strong background in legal technology, document assembly, and translating complex legal processes into structured decision trees.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to quickly step into existing systems, audit workflows, and keep projects moving independently.
- Communication: Excellent stakeholder management skills to work effectively with legal, tech, and operational teams.
