Pavement Engineer
Location: Perth

Working Pattern: 40 Hours per week, Site based and Hybrid
Additional: OT is available on occasion

Our Northwest Trunk Road Unit spans over 1,422km of roadways, stretching from the rugged beauty of Thurso and Wick in the far north, down to the coastal charm of Campbeltown in Argyll and Bute. It connects communities from Uig on the Isle of Skye to the historic cities of Perth and Stirling, offering a unique opportunity to work across a landscape that’s as diverse as it is inspiring.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Pavement Engineer to join our existing team on a full-time basis. Reporting to the Pavement Manager, you will be responsible for carrying out pavement designs, coordinating pavement investigations and conducting/compiling technical reports for submission to Transport Scotland.

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Conduct visual inspections of pavement assets and infrastructure.
- Develop and deliver pavement design solutions in line with project requirements.
- Coordinate pavement investigations, including rotary coring, Falling Weight Deflectometer (FWD) testing, and Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) surveys.
- Analyse survey and investigation data, preparing technical reports for submission to Transport Scotland.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Previous experience within a highways maintenance or asset management environment is desirable.
- Hold, or be working towards, a relevant professional qualification (e.g. ICE or equivalent).
- Strong analytical and report-writing skills with the ability to interpret technical data.
