Payment Analyst

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Payment Analyst based in United Kingdom.

Join a newly established Payment Operations team focused on creating end-to-end visibility across a complex payment funnel serving millions of active users.

You’ll investigate payment performance across more than a dozen payment service providers, identifying issues before they become business-critical.

Your analysis will help distinguish technical defects from user-behavior patterns and uncover the bottlenecks with the greatest impact on authorization and conversion.

You’ll turn complex payment and customer data into clear insights that can guide Product, Engineering, Data Science, and Fraud teams.

The role offers significant autonomy, with the opportunity to build diagnostic processes, dashboards, alerts, and reporting capabilities from the ground up.

You’ll work in a fast-moving environment where experimentation, practical problem-solving, and small proof-of-concepts are preferred over lengthy planning cycles.

This is an opportunity to become a trusted expert on payment funnel health while directly contributing to measurable improvements in a rapidly scaling international business.

Accountabilities

  • Take diagnostic ownership of checkout and payment funnel health, proactively identifying alerts, anomalies, insights, and defects before they become business-critical.
  • Lead root-cause investigations into funnel drop-offs and payment declines, distinguishing technical or engineering issues from user-behavior patterns.
  • Analyze authorization rates, decline codes, payment performance, and other funnel metrics to identify the highest-impact bottlenecks and improvement opportunities.
  • Investigate performance across multiple payment service providers and identify differences, outages, or recurring issues requiring attention.
  • Support regular funnel reporting for cross-functional stakeholders, translating payment data into clear insights and recommendations that can improve authorization rates and conversion.
  • Partner closely with Product, Engineering, Data Science, and Fraud teams to investigate payment issues, processor outages, and other funnel-related challenges.
  • Communicate technical and analytical findings clearly to stakeholders who may not have deep payments expertise.
  • Build and improve dashboards, alerts, reporting, and diagnostic processes that increase visibility into payment funnel performance.
  • Develop into a trusted point of contact for payment funnel health, helping establish best practices within the broader team.
  • Work proactively in an evolving environment, creating practical solutions from first principles where established processes or playbooks do not yet exist.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
