Job Description
International Tech Consultants is seeking a QA Engineer to support a major release for a leading UK payment processing fintech. You will take ownership of QA planning and execution across a complex, compliance-sensitive environment, working closely with engineers and stakeholders to ensure release readiness. This role suits a hands-on tester with strong testing credibility, C# automation capability, and confident communication in a consulting context.
What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)
- Plan and execute QA activities to support a major release across web, API, and backend components.
- Define and maintain pragmatic test plans, test scenarios, and risk-based coverage aligned to release timelines.
- Build and maintain automated tests using C#/.NET and appropriate test automation tooling.
- Execute functional, regression, and integration testing and clearly document results and evidence.
- Triage defects end-to-end: reproduce issues, capture high-quality diagnostics, prioritise with stakeholders, and track through to resolution.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and non-technical stakeholders to communicate quality status, risks, and release readiness.
- Operate effectively as a consultant: manage expectations, provide clear updates, and deliver outcomes in a client environment.
- Support UAT coordination as needed and contribute to go/no-go readiness discussions.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
