We’re looking for a Payments Risk Specialist to:
- manage the input and release of payments for the WMUK & Jersey business.
- cross-check that the instruction has been given in line with current and valid indemnities for the client. This includes verification of authorized signatures and maintaining that only authorized clients, Powers of Attorney, or Third Party Mandate holders give instructions.
- perform callbacks on payments that fall within the relevant thresholds. Callbacks are to be done in a highly professional and client-focused manner and conducted to verify the authenticity of a payment instruction, alongside fraud prevention measures to enhance and protect our clients’ overall banking experience.
- liaise with key internal service providers and stakeholders (including Client Advisors, Client Account Managers, Desk & Segment Heads) within the bank to ensure the timely execution/resolution of CPT-related queries and obtaining the appropriate exemptions, waivers, and approvals.
- drive improvements to the overall client experience by working with other areas of the bank to ensure a seamless service.
- ensure all risk management controls are adhered to in order to identify and mitigate any potential risk and appropriate management information (MI) is produced.

The Team
The Centralised Payment Team is an established team which sits in the business-aligned Front Support Organisation and owns the payment lifecycle for WM UK & Jersey clients. The team will input payments, conduct callbacks, check, approve, and release payments. They will be highly client-focused, multi-skilled, and commercially aware, with a keen sense of the importance of process and best practice in a highly regulated business.

Your Skills and Experience
- Industry experience with knowledge of key banking and operational procedures, ideally including payments.
- Experience in client services with particular exposure to speaking with clients.
- Conscientious, detail-oriented individual who works hard in an accurate and time-effective manner, always paying strict attention to cut-off times and deadlines.
- The ability to multitask and prioritize within a busy and fast-paced, dynamic working environment.
- Will require a strong understanding of Financial Crime/Fraud.
- Confidence to build strong professional relationships with other teams within the bank.
