Role Description
This role is contract based on a day rate, on-site position based in Greater London. The Payment Clerk will be working within the operations department assisting with processing client payments accurately, ensuring funds are sent to the correct destinations and in a timely manner. - Verifying payment instructions
- Reconciling transactions
- Maintaining up-to-date records
- Assisting with resolution of payment queries
The role involves liaising with internal teams and external partners to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. The Payment Clerk will also support continuous improvement of payment processes to enhance efficiency and client satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail, with experience handling financial data and transactional records.
- Proficiency in using payment platforms, spreadsheets, and general office software; comfortable working with digital tools and databases.
- Good understanding of basic banking procedures, international payments, and foreign exchange concepts (experience in FX or financial services is an advantage).
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain payment information and resolve client or internal queries professionally.
- Organizational and time management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a high-volume environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively in an office setting, demonstrating reliability, integrity, and a commitment to high compliance standards.
- Previous experience in a payments, operations, or finance-related role is desirable; a relevant vocational qualification or degree is beneficial.
