Payments, Markets & Partnerships Manager - SEPA / Bank Processing
Location: London
Working Pattern: Hybrid – 3 days per week in the office
Contract: 12 months
Day Rate: £600 per day via Umbrella
Start: ASAP
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Payments, Markets & Partnerships Manager to join a leading global FinTech’s European payments organisation on an initial 12-month contract.
This is an opportunity to join one of the largest users of SEPA payments in Europe, taking responsibility for key European banking relationships and supporting the delivery and ongoing performance of high-volume bank-processing capabilities.
The Role
Sitting within the Payments, Markets & Partnerships team, you will manage relationships with banking and payment-processing partners that enable the organisation to move money across Europe.
You will act as a key link between external banking partners and internal teams including Product, Technology, Operations, Treasury, Risk, Compliance, and Legal.

The role combines banking relationship management, SEPA/payment expertise, change delivery, and issue management.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing key European banking and payment-processing relationships, with a particular focus on SEPA
- Driving payment-processing projects, upgrades, and enhancements through to delivery
- Working closely with Product teams and banking partners to improve existing payment capabilities
- Coordinating the investigation and resolution of payment-processing issues, ensuring the appropriate internal and external stakeholders are engaged
- Remaining accountable for issues through to successful resolution
- Understanding upcoming payment-industry, scheme, and regulatory changes and helping ensure these are reflected in internal priorities and roadmaps
- Managing partner performance and ensuring agreed commitments and obligations are delivered
- Working across a complex, international stakeholder environment to drive successful outcomes

Requirements
We are looking for an experienced payments professional with strong knowledge of European bank processing and SEPA.
You should ideally have:
- Strong hands-on knowledge of SEPA
- Experience working within a bank, FinTech, payment processor, PSP, or other large-scale payments environment
- A strong understanding of end-to-end payment processing and payment rails
- Experience managing relationships with banks, payment processors, or other external payment partners
- Experience delivering payment-related projects, enhancements, or regulatory/scheme change
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work across Product, Technology, Operations, and other business functions
- Experience coordinating and driving payment-processing issues through to resolution
- The ability to operate independently as a hands-on individual contributor
- Excellent communication and influencing skills
