Payments Partnerships Manager – SEPA & Bank Processing

12-month contract | London | Hybrid | Inside IR35

We’re looking for an experienced Payments Partnerships Manager with strong SEPA and bank processing experience to join a leading global payments organisation on an initial 12-month contract.

You’ll be responsible for managing key banking relationships across Europe and supporting important payment processing projects. You’ll work closely with banking partners and internal teams across Product, Treasury, Compliance, Risk, Legal, and Operations to resolve issues, improve payment processes, and deliver new initiatives.

This is a great opportunity to work on high-volume European payment processing, build relationships with major banking partners, and play an important role in improving payment services across Europe.

What you'll be doing

  • Manage and develop relationships with key banks, payment processors, and financial institutions.
  • Take ownership of European SEPA and bank processing activities.
  • Act as the key day-to-day contact for banking partners.
  • Lead the delivery of payment processing projects, enhancements, and new capabilities.
  • Work closely with Product teams and banking partners to deliver strategic initiatives.
  • Investigate and resolve payment processing issues and operational challenges.
  • Manage partner performance, reporting, governance, and contractual obligations.
  • Support commercial discussions and negotiations with external partners.
  • Work cross-functionally with Product, Treasury, Compliance, Risk, Legal, Operations, and Sales.
  • Monitor developments across the payments and regulatory landscape.
  • Identify opportunities to improve payment processing, partner performance, cost, and operational efficiency.

What we're looking for

You'll ideally have:

  • Experience in SEPA bank processing - this is an essential element of the role.
  • Strong understanding of payments processing and banking operations.
  • Experience working with banks, processors, payment networks, fintechs, or financial institutions.
  • Proven experience managing external partners.
  • Experience delivering payments-related programmes or projects.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A Master's degree or equivalent experience is desirable.
