Payments Performance & Optimisation Specialist
The Role
A new opportunity to improve payment performance, strengthen controls and deliver better customer outcomes within a high-volume payments environment.
Working with Finance, Technology, Product, Fraud and external payment partners, you will monitor payment performance, analyse transaction data and drive operational improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor payment performance, controls and issues, escalating risks and deterioration.
- Analyse payment data to identify trends, issues and improvement opportunities.
- Investigate payment and operational issues and coordinate resolution.
- Support payment platform changes, testing, reconciliation and implementation.
- Support compliance with relevant regulatory, payment scheme and PCI requirements.
- Provide payments expertise across business and technology teams.

What You’ll Bring
- Experience in customer or merchant payments within a high-volume environment.
- Good understanding of payment processing, settlement and reconciliation.
- Knowledge of cards, Direct Debit, bank payments and/or digital wallets.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of payment risk, fraud and operational controls.
- Experience working with payment providers, gateways or technology teams.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Desirable
- Stripe experience, including Dashboard, Radar or Sigma.
- Knowledge of payment optimisation and fraud monitoring.
- Experience with APIs and payment integrations.
- Power BI, SQL, Python or similar data analysis skills.
- Knowledge of PCI DSS, card schemes and BACS.
