Overview
SUMMARY OF ROLE
This role will involve participation at all stages of the project lifecycle, including contribution to pre-sales and bids, requirements analysis, solution design and systems architecture, documentation, testing, implementation, and post-implementation support.
Responsibilities
Principal Responsibilities
- Provide effort and cost estimates for new project work.
- Liaise with customers and internal teams to define and document system requirements.
- Liaise with vendors and third parties to define and document system requirements.
- Analyse and design technical solutions to meet user requirements and resolve issues.
- Conduct impact analysis and produce technical designs for changes relating to card scheme mandates (including but not limited to LINK, Visa, MasterCard, Union Pay International, DFS/Diners, American Express, JCB).
- Produce test documentation for new software releases, including test plans, test conditions, and test scripts, in line with TNS Test Methodology and procedures.
- Produce operational procedures for project-related and support-related changes.
- Produce implementation instructions and release control documentation.
- Act as a technical interface to the TNS Test Team, driving issue resolution with all required internal and external parties. Support technical setup of test tools and simulators where required.
- Support and perform software implementation tasks.
- Fully document solutions and provide technical handover to relevant TNS teams, including Development, Support, and Operations.
- Ensure technical standards are upheld throughout the project lifecycle in alignment with TNS development and technical standards.
- Ensure technical solutions meet all required compliance and security mandates, including PCI-DSS.
- Take technical ownership of end-to-end solutions.
- Provide peer review and technical support to other TNS Development team members.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure that the Company’s overall Quality Objectives are met in the execution of job responsibilities.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and procedures.
- Comply with the current TNS Information Security Policy.
- Maintain confidentiality when handling customer information and payment data.
- Understand and adhere to contractual requirements to ensure the integrity of data and the availability of services at all times.
- Understand and apply the appropriate departmental standards.
- Report progress to management.
- Provide handover of work to other TNS Development team members as required.
- Perform other duties as may be required.

Desired Technical Skills
- Databases (SQL desirable)
- Good understanding of one or more operating systems, ideally Windows and Linux
- Understanding of payment systems and protocols (e.g., ISO 8583)
Desired Knowledge / Experience
- Previous use of an industry-strength payment application (e.g., Postilion, Tango, Authentic)
- Knowledge of payment schemes (e.g., LINK, Visa, MasterCard, UnionPay, Diners, JCB, American Express)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Understanding of PCI DSS requirements
- Experience in system analysis and design
- Experience with testing
Additional Useful Knowledge / Experience
- IBM Mainframe (including COBOL programming)
- Visual Basic programming
- Java programming
- Scripting languages
- FileXpress / SFTP
