Payroll Accounting Specialist

12 Month FTC

Cambridge - Hybrid

JGA are partnering with a leading international business to recruit a Payroll Accounting Specialist to join their growing payroll function.

This is a great opportunity for someone with a background across payroll and accounting who enjoys the financial side of payroll, including journals, reconciliations and month-end activities.

The Role

Working closely with Payroll and Finance, you will be responsible for:

  • Processing and reviewing payroll journals accurately and within agreed deadlines
  • Managing queries relating to payroll journals and accounting
  • Completing monthly balance sheet and P&L reconciliations
  • Supporting month-end activities, including accruals and prepayments
  • Posting payroll and benefits invoices
  • Supporting group, parent and subsidiary audits
  • Investigating discrepancies and resolving payroll accounting queries
  • Supporting ad hoc reporting, including PSA, STBV and Gender Pay Gap reporting
  • Working closely with Payroll, Finance and wider internal stakeholders

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience within a payroll, payroll accounting or finance environment
  • Strong experience with payroll journals and reconciliations
  • Good understanding of month-end processes, accruals and prepayments
  • AAT Level 4 qualification
  • Ideally studying towards ACCA or CIMA
  • Strong Excel skills and confidence working with accounting systems
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work to strict deadlines
  • Experience within a medium to large international organisation would be advantageous

This would suit someone looking to build on their payroll accounting experience within a complex, international environment.
