Payroll Administrator

Location: Stirlingshire, FK5 4EB
Salary: £29,103
Type: Full Time, 12 Month FTC

Overview

As Payroll Administrator, you'll collate and process weekly and monthly payroll data, working closely with Central Payroll Services to keep every payslip accurate and on time. Alongside this you'll provide wider administrative support to the department, from reporting to record keeping, and act as a point of contact for colleagues and members of the public. This is a demanding, detail led role suited to someone who takes ownership of accuracy under pressure.

As part of this you’ll:

  • Collate and process weekly and monthly payroll data liaising directly with Central Payroll Services
  • Handle payroll queries and carry out general payroll administration duties
  • Maintain administrative systems that support accurate recording of information across the department
  • Review and prioritise your own workload within agreed parameters
  • Record minutes of meetings and maintain accurate notes
  • Produce reports for department managers as required
  • Provide administrative support to other departments as needed
  • Maintain accurate data input and record keeping
  • Carry out general administrative duties including filing and photocopying

What you’ll need to do the role:

  • Proven payroll and administrative experience
  • High attention to detail, with confidence working in a data driven role
  • Confident use of Microsoft Word and Excel, plus email and internet
  • Able to produce correspondence and documents, and maintain spreadsheets, databases and presentations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including a good telephone manner
  • Comfortable liaising with staff across departments and with external contacts
  • Strong organisational skills, able to manage a demanding workload and competing priorities
  • Able to remain calm and professional when dealing with distressed or frustrated members of the public

This role requires a PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups) check as a condition of employment

Desirable

  • Experience within a NHS, healthcare or public sector environment
  • Familiarity with payroll, finance or facilities management systems
