About The Role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Payroll Administrator to join our client’s dynamic team based in Blackburn. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated payroll professional to further develop their career within a supportive and collaborative environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing end-to-end payroll processes for a diverse portfolio of clients across multiple sectors, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing. Initially based in the office, the role offers hybrid working arrangements following a successful probation period, providing flexibility to support work-life balance.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess previous experience in managing end-to-end payroll processes, preferably within a payroll bureau, accountancy practice, or similar setting. A solid understanding of payroll legislation, HMRC requirements, and auto-enrolment duties is essential. Strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple deadlines are crucial for success in this role. Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to work are highly valued. Proficiency in payroll software packages and a genuine desire for professional growth will also be advantageous.
Responsibilities
The core responsibilities of the Payroll Administrator include:
- Processing various payroll cycles such as weekly, fortnightly, four-weekly, and monthly payrolls for multiple clients.
- Managing the entire payroll process, including calculating statutory payments like SSP, SMP, SPP, and SAP, as well as processing new starters, leavers, and employee changes.
- Submitting RTI reports to HMRC accurately and on time.
- Managing pension contributions and auto-enrollment responsibilities.
- Handling payroll queries from clients and employees, ensuring issues are resolved efficiently and professionally.
- Maintaining accurate and confidential payroll records.
- Staying up-to-date with legislative changes and compliance requirements.
- Supporting the wider team with payroll administration.
- Delivering excellent client service.
