Payroll Administrator (FTC 6 months)
Location: Solihull (Hybrid Working)
Hours: Full Time, Monday-Friday
Salary: £27,000 - £33,000 DOE
Ashley Kate HR & Finance are delighted to be partnering with our client in the search for a Payroll Administrator to join their established payroll team on a fixed-term contract.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced payroll professional looking to join a busy and supportive environment where accuracy, customer service, and continuous improvement are at the heart of the role. You will play a key part in ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time while supporting payroll processes, benefits administration, and ongoing improvements across the payroll function.
As Payroll Administrator, you will be responsible for the end-to-end processing of allocated payrolls, ensuring compliance with payroll legislation, company policies, and financial controls. Working closely with the wider payroll and reward teams, you will provide a high-quality service to employees and stakeholders while identifying opportunities to improve processes and drive efficiencies.

This role would suit someone with strong payroll experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in delivering an accurate and professional service.
Key Responsibilities
- Process allocated payrolls accurately and within strict deadlines.
- Ensure all employees are paid correctly and on time in line with payroll legislation and internal controls.
- Handle payroll queries from employees and stakeholders, providing a professional and customer-focused service.
- Support payroll administration activities and associated payroll processes.
- Assist with employee benefits administration, including pensions and savings schemes.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and documentation.
- Work collaboratively with the wider payroll and reward teams to ensure consistency of service.
- Support the implementation of payroll initiatives, process enhancements, and continuous improvement activities.
- Produce payroll-related reports and analysis as required.
- Ensure compliance with HMRC legislation and payroll best practice.
- Support additional payroll and administrative duties as required.

- Experienced in payroll administration and payroll processing.
- Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail.
- Customer-focused and able to build positive relationships with stakeholders.
- Comfortable working to deadlines and managing multiple priorities.
- A strong communicator with excellent verbal and written skills.
- Proactive, adaptable, and solutions focused.
- Confident working independently and as part of a team.
- Passionate about delivering a high-quality payroll service.
Essential
- Previous payroll administration experience.
- Good understanding of UK payroll legislation and payroll processes.
- Experience working within a fast-paced administrative environment.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
