Job Title: Payroll Administrator

Salary: £35,000–£37,000

Location: Woking

Hybrid: 3 days office / 2 days home – initially office-based for training

Contract: Permanent, Full-Time

The Role

An opportunity for an experienced Payroll Administrator to join an established payroll bureau, taking ownership of a varied portfolio of client payrolls.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process end-to-end client payrolls across multiple pay frequencies.
  • Manage starters, leavers and employee changes.
  • Set up PAYE schemes and liaise with HMRC.
  • Administer pensions and auto-enrolment through payroll.
  • Maintain accurate client and employee payroll records.
  • Ensure payrolls are completed accurately and within deadlines.
  • Respond to client payroll queries and build strong relationships.
  • Support wider payroll activities and ad-hoc requirements.

Ideal Candidate

  • Minimum 2+ years’ UK payroll experience.
  • Previous payroll bureau/client payroll experience highly desirable.
  • Confident managing multiple payrolls and competing deadlines.
  • Good understanding of pensions and auto-enrolment.
  • IRIS STAR and/or PayCircle experience advantageous but not essential.
  • Strong IT and Microsoft Office skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with good client communication skills.
