UK Payroll Administrator – 6 Month FTC

Location: London - Hybrid
Contract: 6-month FTC
Salary: £45,000 + bonus

We’re working with a growing international business looking to bring an experienced UK Payroll Administrator into their team on an initial 6-month fixed-term contract.

Working closely with the Global Payroll Manager, you’ll support the day-to-day delivery of the UK payroll, making sure employee changes are processed accurately, deadlines are met and employees receive a reliable payroll service.

This is a hands-on position covering everything from payroll inputs and checking through to reconciliations, pensions, employee queries and year-end support.

What you’ll be doing

  • Support the monthly UK payroll from input through to final checks
  • Process starters, leavers, salary changes, bonuses, deductions, benefits and absence-related changes
  • Check payroll data and investigate any discrepancies before payroll sign-off
  • Work closely with HR to ensure employee changes are received and processed correctly
  • Support PAYE, National Insurance and statutory payment requirements
  • Assist with pension and benefits administration, including contribution checks
  • Complete payroll reconciliations and provide payroll information to Finance for month-end
  • Respond to employee payroll queries and escalate more complex issues where required
  • Liaise with external payroll providers and internal stakeholders
  • Support UK year-end activities including P60s and P11Ds where applicable
  • Maintain payroll documentation, process notes, calendars and SOPs
  • Help identify opportunities to improve payroll processes, controls and automation

What we’re looking for

  • Previous experience working within UK payroll
  • Good understanding of PAYE, National Insurance, pensions and statutory payments
  • Experience using a payroll system such as Cintra, SAP or ADP
  • Previous experience using Workday
  • Comfortable working with payroll reconciliations and reporting
  • Good Excel skills, including formulas, filters and data checking
  • Strong attention to detail and confidence working to strict payroll deadlines
  • Comfortable dealing directly with employee payroll queries
  • Able to work effectively across Payroll, HR, Finance and external providers
