Job Title: Payroll Administrator

Are you a highly organised administrator with a keen eye for detail and a passion for ensuring people are paid accurately and on time? Do you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment where your expertise, customer focus and problem-solving skills make a real difference every day?

We are looking for a Payroll Administrator to join our team and play a vital role in delivering an efficient and professional payroll service. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with data, supporting employees and stakeholders, and contributing to the smooth running of essential people processes. What You Will Be Doing

As a Payroll Administrator, you'll be at the heart of ensuring our payroll and people data processes run smoothly, accurately, and efficiently as well as playing an important role in moving NRS payroll processes into a new ERP environment. Working alongside payroll colleagues, system specialists, and project stakeholders, you will ensure the system reflects how payroll works in practice and produces accurate, reliable results.

You'll work closely with employees, managers, and stakeholders across the business, providing payroll support and helping to maintain the high standards our people depend upon.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Processing payroll information accurately and efficiently, ensuring employee records and payroll data remain up to date.
  • Supporting employees and managers with payroll queries, providing excellent customer service and escalating matters where appropriate.
  • Maintaining organised digital records and documentation to ensure compliance, accessibility, and data integrity.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve payroll processes and contribute to the continuous enhancement of service delivery.
  • Supporting Reward Benefits with the administration of our flexible benefits schemes.

Who We Are Looking For

We're looking for an organised and detail-focused professional who understands the importance of accuracy, confidentiality and delivering an excellent employee experience. You'll be comfortable managing multiple priorities, working to deadlines and handling sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.

You'll have previous administrative experience, ideally gained within payroll, HR, recruitment, learning and development or a related people services environment. A good understanding of payroll or HR systems, confidence using Microsoft Office applications and the ability to build positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders will help you succeed in this role.

To be successful, you should have:

  • GCSEs/A-Levels in English and Maths and experience in an administrative role, ideally within payroll, HR, or a related function.
  • Experience using payroll, HR or business systems and maintaining accurate records and databases.
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion while delivering excellent customer service.
  • Strong attention to detail, data management skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities to meet deadlines.
  • A CIPD qualification (Level 3 in England and Wales, Level 6 in Scotland, or equivalent), advanced Microsoft Office skills and experience using systems such as Business World, ATS or Learning Management Systems would be advantageous.
