Payroll Administrator
We are looking for a Payroll Administrator to join Team OB in our Support Office.
As a Payroll Administrator at OB, you will support with the accurate and timely delivery of payroll administration across the business. Working closely with the Senior Payroll & Reward Manager, the role helps ensure team member data is accurate, payroll changes are processed correctly, and payroll queries are handled in a friendly, efficient, and confidential way.
Our Support Office is based in Tolworth, near Chessington, only a 30-minute journey from London Waterloo. We offer hybrid working with a split of 3 days in the office and 2 days home working per week, and are open to having conversations about working flexibly.

An OB Payroll Administrator will:
- Support the preparation and processing of monthly payrolls for UK and Ireland team members, including one-off allowances and deductions, NI category changes, and bank detail checks.
- Carry out new starter checks to ensure all payroll information has been received, and team members have been set up correctly.
- Process payroll changes including leavers, contractual changes, pay amendments, and absence records.
- Complete monthly payroll checks and validations to help ensure payroll is accurate before processing.
- Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies, working with managers and team members where required.
- Support the administration of statutory payments, including SSP, SMP, and SPP.
- Assist with pension administration, including enrolments, opt-outs, and monthly submissions.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure compliance with payroll legislation and company procedures.
- Own the weekly timesheet checks, following up with managers and resolving any issues before the payroll deadline.
- Produce weekly payroll and people reports for Finance and other stakeholders.
- Complete regular system audits to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, reporting, and data quality, and highlight these to the Senior Payroll & Reward Manager.
- Transfer new starters from HR to payroll, ensuring records are complete and ready for payroll processing.
- Update and maintain benefit scheme records, including membership lists and employee communications.
- Respond to payroll inbox queries from team members and managers in a timely and friendly manner.

What we look for:
- Previous experience in payroll, HR/People administration, or a similar data-focused administrative role
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Good Excel skills including confidence working with spreadsheets to check, organise, and analyse data accurately
- Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information with discretion, accuracy, and care
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
- Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
- Understanding of payroll legislation, statutory payments, and other payroll processes desired but not essential
- Experience using HR or payroll systems preferred
