Role: Payroll Administrator - 12 month FTC
Location: Manchester - Hybrid - 3 days per week in the office

The Role
We're looking for a Payroll Administrator to join Bureau Veritas UK&I on a 12-month fixed-term contract and support the accurate and timely delivery of payroll across the business.
Working alongside our Payroll team, you'll play a key role in maintaining payroll data, processing employee changes, resolving payroll queries and supporting the smooth running of payroll activities for a large and diverse employee population.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys the operational side of payroll, has strong attention to detail and is comfortable working with high volumes of data in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and maintain payroll data, ensuring employee changes are accurately recorded and submitted within agreed deadlines.
- Support the monthly payroll cycle by preparing, validating and checking payroll information.
- Maintain accurate employee records across payroll and HR systems.
- Respond to employee payroll queries and support timely resolution of issues.
- Carry out payroll audits, reconciliations and data checks to ensure accuracy.
- Produce payroll reports and support payroll-related administration activities.
- Work closely with HR, managers and our payroll provider to support efficient payroll delivery.
- Support year-end payroll activities and compliance requirements.
- Assist with other payroll administration tasks as required by the team.

About You
- Previous payroll administration experience within a medium to large organisation.
- Experience supporting payroll delivery within a high-volume environment.
- Good understanding of UK payroll processes, legislation and compliance requirements.
- Knowledge of statutory payments, pensions, auto-enrolment and payroll year-end activities.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to work accurately and efficiently with large volumes of data.
- Confident using Excel and payroll/HR systems.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach when handling employee queries.
Desirable
- Experience working with an outsourced payroll provider.
- Familiarity with systems such as SuccessFactors, SD Worx or similar payroll platforms.
- Exposure to employee benefits administration.
- CIPP qualification or studying towards one.
