Payroll Administrator - Tarmac
6-Month Fixed-Term Contract
Location: Solihull/Hybrid

Are you an experienced Payroll Administrator with a keen eye for detail and a passion for delivering exceptional service? At Tarmac, we're looking for a proactive and organised Payroll Administrator to join our Employee Services team on a 6-month fixed-term contract.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in ensuring thousands of employees are paid accurately and on time, while helping drive continuous improvement across payroll processes and systems.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Payroll Administrator, you'll take ownership of allocated payrolls, ensuring all payroll activities are completed accurately, efficiently, and in line with company policies and statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Processing payroll activities accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with HMRC legislation and company controls
- Managing allocated payrolls and associated administration tasks from start to finish
- Supporting the Payroll Team Manager and Payroll Senior Administrator with payroll operations and new initiatives
- Building positive relationships with employees, managers, and key stakeholders across the business
- Providing excellent customer service and resolving payroll queries effectively
- Supporting employee benefits administration, including pensions and ShareSave (SAYE) schemes
- Identifying opportunities to improve processes and helping implement positive change
- Collaborating with colleagues across Payroll, Reward and Employee Services to ensure a consistent and high-quality service

What We're Looking For
You'll be a detail-oriented payroll professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in delivering accurate work.
We're Looking For Someone With
- Payroll experience and strong technical payroll knowledge
- Previous experience within an administrative or payroll-focused role
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- The ability to prioritise workloads and perform under pressure
- Experience identifying and implementing process improvements
- Intermediate Excel skills
Desirable
- Membership of the Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals (CIPP)
- Experience working within a large, complex organisation
