About The Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Payroll Administrator to join our dynamic team at Portfolio Payroll Limited. In this role, you will be responsible for managing end-to-end payroll processes for our clients, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery of payroll services. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of payroll legislation, excellent communication skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Qualifications

The ideal candidate should have prior experience in payroll administration, ideally within a busy environment. Relevant qualifications such as the Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or membership with the Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals (CIPP) are preferred. Strong proficiency in Excel and other MS Office applications is essential. A solid understanding of statutory payroll legislation, RTI submissions, pension schemes, and other related regulations is required. Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure are crucial attributes for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Processing outsourced payroll accurately and efficiently for multiple clients, ensuring all statutory deadlines are met.
  • Managing end-to-end payroll administration, including enrolling new starters, calculating statutory payments, and handling leavers.
  • Liaising with HMRC regarding tax codes, submissions, and compliance matters.
  • Handling RTI submissions, pension scheme administration, and ensuring adherence to current legislation.
  • Collating and verifying timesheets, inputting data into payroll systems, and checking for accuracy.
  • Creating statutory payment schedules, processing top-ups, and performing manual calculations such as starters, leavers, tax, NI, student loans, and pensions.
  • Utilizing data imports for streamlined payroll processing and managing early payroll runs and re-runs.
  • Implementing calculations and submissions related to apprenticeship levy, employment allowance, and small employer reliefs.
  • Processing payroll reversals, corrections, and handling court orders as required.
  • Providing excellent customer service by taking inbound calls, responding to queries, and offering payroll advice.
  • Performing general administrative duties related to payroll processing and client management.
