The Opportunity

You'll be helping to provide an efficient, accurate and comprehensive payroll service to a varied portfolio of clients while ensuring a high standard of service is maintained throughout.

As our Payroll Administrator, you'll be responsible for:

  • Completing year-end payroll processes accurately and on time.
  • Responding to clients, colleagues and HMRC queries.
  • Build strong client relationships by managing expectations, maintaining a client-focused approach and offering practical advisory support.
  • Support team members where required.
  • Manage the day-to-day administration of client payrolls, including RTI submissions, year-end reporting and payroll legislative updates.
  • Process starters, leavers, SMP, SPP, SSP, student loans, attachment of earnings orders and other statutory payroll items.
  • Upload pension contributions and support clients with pension and auto-enrolment requirements.
  • Reviewing payrolls for accuracy and compliance.
  • Deal promptly and professionally with payroll queries.
  • Meet deadlines while maintaining high accuracy and attention to detail.

What We're Looking For

We're keen to hear from candidates who can demonstrate:

  • Experience using IRIS Payroll Professional.
  • Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation, including PAYE, National Insurance, statutory family leave, tax coding and other payroll-related requirements.
  • Comprehensive understanding of pensions and automatic enrolment.
  • Ability to calculate payroll manually and clearly explain results to clients.
  • Excellent organisational skills, high level of accuracy, attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines effectively.
  • A professional and discreet approach to confidential information.
  • Confident communication skills, with the ability to build strong client relationships.
