Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Working Pattern: Full-Time, Onsite
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm
Employment: Full-Time position directly with the client
The Opportunity
Mactech is currently recruiting for a Payroll Administrator to join a leading international engineering and construction organisation delivering a major scope of works at Hinkley Point C.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Payroll Administrator, or an administrator with payroll/finance experience, to establish themselves within the UK nuclear sector while working on one of the country's largest and most significant infrastructure projects.
You will join an established project team delivering critical works associated with the power station's turbine island and supporting infrastructure, within a highly regulated, safety-focused engineering environment.
The position is full-time and based onsite at Hinkley Point C, Monday to Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm.
What You'll Be Doing
As Payroll Administrator, you will provide day-to-day payroll and administrative support to the project workforce, helping ensure employees are paid accurately and on time.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the preparation and processing of payroll.
- Checking and processing timesheets, working hours, and overtime.
- Maintaining accurate employee and payroll records.
- Processing holidays, sickness, absences, and other payroll information.
- Supporting new starters, leavers, and changes to employee details.
- Responding to employee payroll and pay-related queries.
- Assisting with payroll reports, reconciliations, and general administration.
- Working closely with HR, Finance, and other project departments.
- Handling sensitive employee and payroll information confidentially.
- Ensuring records and documentation are maintained accurately within a highly regulated project environment.

What We're Looking For
We are looking for someone who is organised, approachable, and highly accurate, with the ability to manage confidential information professionally.
Ideally, you will have:
- Previous experience in payroll, finance, or a similar administrative position.
- Strong administrative and data-entry skills.
- Good Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong numerical skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively to deadlines.
- Confidence dealing with employee queries.
Experience within construction, engineering, energy, nuclear, or another major project environment would be advantageous but is not essential.
