Job Description
The Role
As a Payroll Administrator, you will play a key role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll for over 1,000 employees. Working closely with the Payroll & Benefits Manager, you will contribute to a reliable and customer-focused payroll function, while supporting benefits administration and ongoing process improvements.
The role is offered on a part-time basis of 25 hours per week, to be worked over 5 days, with 2 days per week in the office.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the accurate and timely processing of monthly payroll, including starters, leavers, and contractual changes
- Administer statutory payments, pensions, and employee benefits in line with UK legislation
- Source, collate, and verify payroll data from multiple systems and sources, ensuring information is accurate, complete, and consistent
- Validate payroll data, carry out thorough checks, and support reconciliations and reporting, investigating discrepancies and escalating issues where needed
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with GDPR and company policies
- Respond to payroll queries and collaborate with internal teams and external providers
- Contribute to annual reward processes and continuous improvement of payroll practices

Qualifications
- Previous payroll experience with a solid understanding of UK payroll legislation
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills, with a methodical approach to checking your own work before submission
- Advanced Excel skills are essential, alongside proven experience using payroll/HR and other internal systems
- Ability to work confidently across multiple platforms, collating and cross-checking data from different sources
- Ability to learn new systems and processes quickly
- Effective communicator with a customer-focused approach
- Discreet, proactive, and committed to continuous improvement
- (A CIPP qualification or willingness to study towards one is advantageous)
